This was my moms dog, she loved having her picture taken. When I wouldn't show up for several weeks to several years this dog would know 2 to 3 days before I would get there that I was coming, she would lay by the door and Wait, sometimes she knew I was coming up to 2 days before I knew it. back to (14)

   I have bragging rights for making the first Harley Davidson saddle bags. I had a friend, (Ernie) take me to Lansing to pick up a 1971 Harley Super-glide, (the FX 1200 engine in the sportster frame). Through the summer I chopped it and had another friend add a very expensive 57 H.P. to it. Hard to explain how much fun it was to have a hot Chopper in the days of free love. I went to my next door farmer and bought a tanned and cured cow hide, (brown Jersey) and cut one solid set of saddle bags out of it, that I could take off and throw over my shoulder. The friend that built the engine (Joe Babcock) saw my saddle bags and asked me what I wanted for the saddle bag idea, we settled on lunch that his wife had ready and he would paint my gas tank. I saw him several years later and he had the bragging rights to making over 11 million dollars off my idea. Harley never had there own saddle bag till this. A lot of riders put bags on there Harley's but they wasn't Harley Davidson.
